Our representative, Yevheniia Usychenko, participated in the International Conference on Population and Development ICPD30 in Cotonou, Benin, which took place from April 4th to 5th, 2024.
We are very grateful to UNFPA Eastern Europe & Central Asia for the invitation!
It was a great opportunity to come together with various youth organizations, leaders, and strategic partners from 130 countries worldwide to assess progress, identify challenges, and rethink the ICPD30 Action Program for a new generation.
The following topics were discussed:
- My Body, My Life: Health and Well-being
- Transforming Education, Transforming Lives: Expanding Opportunities for Youth
- Human Rights Protection and Gender Equality Promotion for Youth in all its Diversity
- Adaptation, Prosperity, and Inspiration: Creating a Sustainable Future in a Crisis-Stricken World
- Strengthening Voices: The Power of 1.9 Billion, as that’s the number of young people living in the world today
We interacted and exchanged experiences with peers from different countries across all continents. Our experiences, thoughts, and insights will be transformed into a report that summarizes the ideas and recommendations of regional youth consultations in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Arab states, Latin America, and the Caribbean basin.
Over 600 young participants contributed to building a strong youth movement to implement the ICPD30 Action Program.
