The Ministry of Education of Ukraine for the first time provided official support for Teenergizer peer education training programs on HIV and SRHR on sexuality education.
For the first time in three years of our work, Teenergizer managed to get a letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for conducting preventive training on sexuality education in schools.
This is a very important point, since now for us there will be no restrictions for us to enter educational institutions with the prevention, and in general, this adds us to the legitimacy of decision-makers in the field of education. And we need this in the implementation of our plans.
Teenergizer plans to pilot a peer education program in the field of sexual and reproductive education in two schools in the city of Kyiv over the next year.
Pupils of grades 7–10 of the two schools will increase their knowledge of the SRHR and become leaders and equal trainers and will further disseminate knowledge in this area. Such a program is planned to be offered in the future by the Ministry of Education as a methodology for prevention in schools, which can be used by school leaders throughout Ukraine and implement the education standards set forth in state standards, which will soon include value – awareness of SRHR issues.
