We’ve made a bold entrance into autumn once again, with Teenergizer welcoming September in New York this time!
Teenergizer leader, Yana Panfilova, flew to the U.S. to attend and participate in the special event at the Summit of the Future.
Yana visited a special event initiated by the global platform of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen. The goal of the event was to scale up the international dialogue on child protection. The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska presented an expert document, a guide for the international community, which will help to act effectively and protect children within wartime.
Sergiy Kyslytsya, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nation, moderated the event. Speakers of the event were Ukraine, Estonia, Belize, Lithuania, Suriname, Finland, Malawi, Guatemala, the governments of the United Kingdom and Canada, and UNICEF. The wife of the President of the European Council and international representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations also took part. The first lady of the USA made a special speech.
At the Youth Power Summit, which also took place in New York, Yana held a session “The role of youth in humanitarian response” in front of young people and participants. Yana emphasized that mental health problems are the most important challenge among adolescents and young people in the conditions of war and other humanitarian crises. Therefore, it is necessary to expand psychological support.
We were very pleased to participate in these events, as the voice of Ukrainian youth deserves to be heard! There is still a lot of work to be done, but we believe that by working together we can create a world where every young person has equal opportunities, support, and, most importantly, a future!
