Teenergizer participated in the first Mental Health Forum organized by the WHO and the Coordination Center for Mental Health under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program initiated by Olena Zelenska, “How are U ?”
On October 19 and 20, the Teenergizer team spoke about our activities and the main mental health challenges faced by adolescents and young people in Ukraine today at this platform for the exchange of views and experiences.
Our activist and coordinator Liubov shared her experience of being in a toxic relationship and how it affected her and how she feels now. In addition, our peer counselor Yelyzaveta took part in a panel discussion on mental health and well-being of young people in times of crisis. Together with other youth representatives and experts, we discussed what focuses are needed in this area and the necessary mechanisms to support adolescents and young people.
After conducting a joint survey with U-report on how Ukrainian youth are feeling right now, we saw that out of more than 3000 respondents, 62% have faced psychological pressure and emotional depression in recent weeks, and 55% have never sought psychological help before.
This statistic is a signal that we need to keep the focus on the field of psychological assistance for adolescents and young people!
We are very pleased that our young people can confidently talk about the challenges and, together with top-level experts, improve the basic mechanisms in the field of mental health.
